Quarterly Project Spotlight: D-BAT

,PMA served as the project manager on the recently completed franchise of D-BAT, a national baseball and softball instruction academy, just north of Austin in Georgetown.  “Our team jumped at the opportunity to work on this project for franchise owners, and now with over 100 locations nationwide, facilitate the company’s continued expansion in a growth market like Austin,” said Melissa Jones, Project Manager.

The Georgetown franchise of D-BAT was started by Tilley Properties, whose principals are passionate about sports and youth development and saw an opportunity to bring this type of program to the rapidly growing north suburban Austin market. Their focus from the outset was to create a great looking, high-quality building to attract and grow their business, with an interior that was also highly efficient and functional.  As a franchise facility, there were also many design standards to which the construction team had to adhere.  To accomplish both objectives, PMA worked with the owners and the corporate team to adhere to franchise guidelines and create a visually appealing and highly engaging physical space, both inside and out, that would stand out from the competition.

D-BAT Georgetown was a full site development project, including a septic field, parking, and landscaping around a 21,000 square foot indoor baseball and softball instruction facility.  The interior includes a retail shop with retail-level finish-out, a private party and conference room, observation lounges for parents and instructors, and space for personal and weight training. In addition to above-standard finishes, D-BAT features 16 lanes for robust interactive pitching or hitting practice with coaches or machines, as well as outdoor practice and instruction space that takes full advantage of the typically sunny weather.

We’re thrilled to welcome a new D-BAT location to the area and look forward to watching it become an important part of the sport training community…Welcome to Georgetown, D-BAT!
