Fort Sheridan, located on Chicago’s North Shore, was identified as surplus military property in 1989 and contained a 94-building National Historic Landmark District designed by the architectural firm of Holabird and Root. The Town of Fort Sheridan Company was chosen in 1996 to redevelop the 138 acre site while maintaining the historic character of the property through adaptively renovating the historic landmark buildings. The resulting development includes 551 units of new townhouses, condominiums, multi-family and single-family residences. In addition to being a development partner in the project, Project Management Advisors, Inc. provided comprehensive day-to-day development management and oversight of the project.
