Village of Tinley Park 80th Avenue Metra Station and Pedestrian Underpass
Tinley Park, Illinois
The Village of Tinley Park’s 80th Avenue Metra Station is the fourth busiest in the Chicago region. The project included the demolition and construction of the new station including the construction of a pedestrian underpass, eliminating dangerous crosswalks over active railroad tracks. The new, fully accessible station includes public restroom facilities, a café, an expanded ticket counter, a patron plaza, and sitting area within the station. The surrounding five acres includes new traffic patterns, landscaping, warming shelters, and train platforms. The station remained in full operation throughout the project.
