Originally built in 1927, the Talbott Hotel is a boutique hotel located in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. The Client’s main goal was to re-imagine the hotel with a new modern feel, while improving programmatic function by increasing the hotel’s key count from 149 to 178 guest rooms. PMA and the project team pro-actively worked to anticipate issues that were expected to come with renovating a 90 year old building, while minimizing impact to the budget and schedule as much as possible.
PMA led the design team and associated vendors, coordinated all construction and FF&E items to ensure a timely delivery including weekly team meetings, site inspections and furniture warehouse inspections. This allowed the project to proceed in a linear fashion, minimizing delays in construction and allowing for successful delivery of hotel rooms. Thorough schedule reviews and solutions presented by the project team allowed the Client to achieve their goal of a quick delivery.
