Southern Illinois University Edwardsville - Bluff Hall

In 1999, as a result of steady growth in its resident population, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) approved the start of design and construction of a third residence hall, Bluff Hall. PMA was retained by SIUE for its third student housing expansion/renovation project in three years. PMA worked with SIUE and the design team in conducting interviews of previous residence halls’ vendors and contractors to identify areas to be improved during the Bluff Hall design phase. In addition to the interviews, the team reviewed in detail all prior change related documents, including RFI’s, change orders, and construction change directives to improve the overall quality of the facility and minimize document related contract changes. Located on the western edge of central campus, Bluff Hall opened in August of 2001 and is home to over 500 students.
