The Cradle

The Cradle is a private non-profit child welfare and adoption agency located in Evanston, Illinois. Founded in 1923 and still operating from its original facility, the 38,000 sq. ft. building is a City of Evanston Historic Society landmark. Renovation work included replacement all of the building systems, as well as construction of a large modern nursery, training rooms, receiving rooms, offices, family rooms and a nursery museum. The project also included the demolition of an adjacent building to allow construction of a parking lot and landscaped terrace and walkway.
