America’s Only Urban Garden & Landscape Show
50 Landscape “Scenes” within a
Two Acre Tent
Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA) was contacted by the Chicago Park District (CPD) to manage the organization and implementation of Chicago’s first ever Garden in a City event – America’s only urban garden and landscape show. PMA provided project management services to the CPD, ensuring that their first event was a success.
PMA joined forces with Chicago Scenic, Ravenswood Event Services and the CPD to transform the large, open space located in Grant Park, into intimate Chicago “neighborhoods." The “neighborhoods” included completely landscaped urban front and back yards, balcony/rooftop gardens, and container/vertical gardens.
PMA was responsible for coordinating the design, logistics and construction of approximately 50 landscape “scenes” each designed and constructed by local landscape design and contracting firms. The “scenes” were constructed within a two-acre tent, creating a temporary “city” in Butler Field.
