Molecular Medicine BioServices, Inc. (MMB) provides enabling technologies and services for the development and commercialization of viral-based therapeutics. MMB hired PMA in November of 2002 to provide project management services through the design and construction of their new clinical production facility and improvements to their corporate offices. In addition to providing overall project management for the facility, including project team formation, municipal approval, and design construction management, PMA also provided oversight for the validation and QA aspects of the project.
The project consisted of build-out from a vacant shell condition to multi-purpose clean, validated space for use in regulated, clinical manufacturing operations. Construction included an 8,000 square foot steel mezzanine structure built above the laboratories. The mezzanine was home to HVAC equipment, plant and pure steam generators, and electrical distribution systems. An exterior equipment yard was built to house the chillers, boilers, and emergency power generators. A RO/DI water system was also separately purchased and installed to serve the clean room suites.
