Tinley Park Convention Center

The Village of Tinley Park selected Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA) as their owner’s representative for the renovation and 84,000 square foot expansion of the Tinley Park Convention Center. The addition doubled the size of their current exhibition space and provided auxiliary service space. A two-story atrium that was added along the entire front façade of the convention center, including the existing building, provides for additional common meeting space and gives the convention center a state-of-the-art look.

Project challenges include constructing the addition and atrium space while maintaining full occupancy and a fully operational loading dock, and enabling the operator to maintain a functional convention center. Phase and site logistics were continually being analyzed by the project team and the operator. In addition, a large number of utility relocations and challenging soil conditions drove detailed foundation designs.
