Eight Month Construction Schedule
First established in 1839, Half Day School consisted of a single room log cabin. Over the next century, the school experienced numerous additions and renovations to accommodate District needs. After closing in the mid 1960's for several years due to decreased enrollment, Half Day reopened to serve renewed enrollments and undertook another renovation program, for which Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA) provided design administration and construction procurement services. The renovation added eight classrooms, a second gymnasium, expansion of the front office and a new building entryway. Working closely with District 103 officials and reporting at monthly School District Board Meetings, PMA managed the design phase, oversaw the bidding, developed and managed a detailed project budget and schedule and successfully reached the completion date. The construction bid strategy developed by PMA resulted in receiving bids $1,000,000 under budget.
