The Francis W. Parker School (FWP) is an independent K-12 school, founded in 1901 and located in the near north side of Chicago. After successful completion of a previous science wing renovation project for FWP in the Winter of 2005, Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA) was selected by FWP to manage their fourth floor addition and auditorium renovation projects. PMA managed the complex design and construction activities associated with this project, adhering to strict academic schedules and deadlines. PMA also helped coordinate a detailed site logistics plan that allowed the school to occupy adjacent classrooms and outdoor spaces during the 2007 and 2008 school years with minimal impact to the school's administration, faculty and students. The project included a complete renovation of the school's auditorium, including the addition of a new balcony. The project also included the renovation of nearly 40,000 square feet of adjacent fine arts classroom space. PMA services entailed procurement, contract review and negotiation, neighbor relations, utility coordination, budgeting, scheduling, design review, construction administration and the management of numerous owner vendors.
