The Francis W. Parker School is an independent K-12 school founded in 1901 located in the Near North side of Chicago. Following completion of a previous Science Wing renovation project for Francis W. Parker School in the Winter of 2005, Project Management Advisors (PMA) was selected by the school to manage their 4th Floor Addition project. PMA was charged with managing the complex design and construction activities associated with this project, while adhering to strict school schedules and deadlines. Additionally, PMA helped coordinate a detailed site logistics plan that allowed the school to occupy adjacent classrooms and outdoor spaces during the 2006-2007 school year with minimal impact to the school's administration, faculty, and students.
The project included a 10,587 square foot addition of a 4th floor to an existing 3 story structure that houses an art studio, graphics and video lab, wet photography lab with dark room, and other fine arts classrooms. PMA services included procurement, contract review, budgeting, scheduling, design review, construction administration, and the management of numerous owner vendors.
