California State University Fresno Beiden Field Lighting

In response to increasing national recognition of its strong baseball program, California State University Fresno's Athletic Corporation (CSUFAC) made a decision to renovate and improve its lighting at Beiden Field. The project's minimum light levels were established by ESPN broadcast requirements. PMA worked with Fresno State to establish the most cost effective procurement strategy, which included direct purchase of the light fixtures by CSUFAC. Other cost saving measures included the application for, and receipt of utility company rebates, the utilization of unit prices for structural deficiencies in the existing light towers and the establishment of contractor and subcontractor mark-ups during the competitive bid period. Working collaboratively with the project team and the Athletic Corporation, PMA ensured that the project was completed on budget and on schedule in time for the 1996 baseball season.
