California State University Fresno Bulldog Diamond

In response to increasing national recognition of its strong baseball program, California State University Fresno's Athletic Corporation (CSUFAC) made a decision to renovate and improve its lighting at Beiden Field. The project's minimum light levels were established by ESPN broadcast requirements. Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA) worked with Fresno State to establish the most cost effective procurement strategy, which included direct purchase of the light fixtures by CSUFAC. Other cost saving measures included the application for, and receipt of utility company rebates, the utilization of unit prices for structural deficiencies in the existing light towers and the establishment of contractor and subcontractor mark-ups during the competitive bid period. Working collaboratively with the project team and the Athletic Corporation, PMA ensured that the project was completed within schedule and budget goal and ready for the upcoming baseball season.
