The Jack in the Box Innovation Center is a two story, 70,000 square foot facility that is situated on approximately 4.3 acres of an 8.4 acre parcel within the San Diego Spectrum. The Innovation Center is a significant extension of the company’s existing corporate headquarters, located just to the south, and is interconnected via a fiber optic link. Built utilizing a high performance glazing system and cement plaster exterior, the Innovation Center contains first floor research and development space for test kitchens, a cooking lab, chemistry lab, microbiology lab, physical properties lab, equipment labs, sensory observation rooms, and studio space for employee photography and video training. The second floor includes office space for researchers and the marketing, accounting, purchasing, distribution, operational services, and guest services systems departments. The facility also includes warehouse space for kitchen equipment, lab storage, edibles storage, and a shipping and receiving dock.
