Exelixis retained Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA) to manage the tenant improvement construction for their new headquarters in South San Francisco. The project houses their executive offices, boardroom, various conference rooms and associated corporate functions. A key component of their headquarters is the corporate data center located on the first floor.
PMA coordinated the construction of the 2,450 square foot data center designed for approximately 120 watts per foot and includes 6 CRAC (computer room air conditioning) units, 53 server racks and redundant 500KvA UPS systems fed from a 1Mw emergency generator. The server room is also equipped with a pre-action fire sprinkler system and a raised floor with damper tiles.
