BendBroadband is a local, family owned cable TV company in Bend, Oregon, servicing a wide range of communities throughout Central Oregon. With over 50 years in the industry, BendBroadband has been on the cutting edge of providing state of the art, award winning services to its customers for many years. In an effort to expand those services and its business model, BendBroadband decided to develop and offer a new co-location data center.

This new facility is a 30,000 square foot building with two 6,000 square foot data halls. The first of the two data halls has beenbuilt and is operational. This facility is Tier III certified by the Uptime Institute and was recently awarded LEED Gold Certification by the USGBC. The facility is supported by a 4,000 amp service, 2 - 2 MW emergency power generators, 900kW of high efficiency Kyoto cooling dedicated to the first data hall, and a robust security system.

US Logicalis was the Program and Technical Manager for this project and contracted PMA to establish schedule guidance and build structure and advance the project design. PMA developed and managed the process of pre-qualifying general contractors, soliciting bids (through an RFP process), and final award. PMA was integral contract negotiations and served as the primary interface with the city. In partnership with US Logicalis, PMA provided extensive and exhaustive construction management for the overall construction effort that maintained a set duration of 6-months, which included structural upgrades, vast underground electrical work, long lead equipment procurement, low voltage and BMS oversight, LEED administration support, and commissioning coordination.
