BendBroadband Vault Data Center Phase One Awarded LEED Gold & Tier III Certification

PMA is pleased to announce that BendBroadband Vault Data Center Phase One was recently awarded LEED Gold Certification for their new co-location data center in Bend, Oregon. The facility is one of only four other newly constructed data centers in the country to obtain such an achievement. The 30,000 square foot facility, of which 8,000 square feet will be built-out in a future phase, is equipped with an operating 6,000 square foot data hall and ancillary support space. Unique features that support sustainability include a 150KW solar array, the largest in Central Oregon, and two (2) 450kW Kyoto cooling units, providing 900kW of high efficiency cooling. The capacity of just one of the Kyoto units currently installed at BendBroadband Vault represents the very first of its size produced and installed worldwide.

BendBroadband Vault has also recently obtained Tier III Certification from Uptime Institute, which recognizes the facility's capacity to protect against possible failures in the data center's infrastructure. PMA, with its client, Logicalis, and team member Hoffman Construction Company, managed the design and construction activities for this project, implementing strategies for sustainability throughout the process.
